A DNA Test Shattered My Story, But Jesus Met Me in the Wreckage

One of the most difficult realities of a DNA discovery is that healing is rarely a straight path. Many of us find ourselves walking through the valley again and again—revisiting grief, loss, unanswered questions, broken relationships, and shattered assumptions about who we are and where we come from.

Yet even in those moments, we can discover a profound truth: God is with us.

We may never fully understand why our stories unfolded the way they did. We may never receive all the answers we seek. But healing does not require complete understanding. It requires trust. It requires allowing God to comfort us, teach us, guide us, and reveal Himself as the perfect Father when earthly relationships have fallen short.

For those in the DNA Discovery community, the journey can feel deeply isolating. Friends and family often struggle to comprehend the layers of identity confusion, grief, rejection, betrayal, and longing that accompany an unexpected discovery. Every NPE or MPE experiences this journey differently. There is no right or wrong way to process it.

But there is a path toward healing.

That is why ministries like Holy Wreckage are so important. Through her own story, Crystal has demonstrated what it means to bring pain into the presence of God and allow Him to transform it. Rather than hiding the wounds, she has courageously shared them, creating space for others to find hope, truth, and healing. Out of deep suffering, she has birthed a ministry that reminds us that God wastes nothing.

Our stories are not just history—they are part of His story. What once seemed like devastation can become testimony. What was hidden can be brought into the light. What was broken can be redeemed.

While we cannot change the past, we do have opportunities in the present. We can seek understanding. We can pursue healing. We can make different choices. And we can help shape a healthier future for ourselves and those who come after us.

The message of Holy Wreckage is not that the pain wasn't real. It is that God meets us in the wreckage and walks with us through it. He takes what appears hopeless and, in His timing, creates beauty from ashes and joy from mourning.
