How Faith (Not Fear) Can Anchor You Through Transition

Every life transition brings a crossroads—what was is behind you, and what’s ahead is unknown. It’s natural to feel fear. But fear isn’t your only option. Faith—however you define it—can anchor you in something deeper than circumstance. Scripture reminds us, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7).

This year, I experienced a major life change and transition after my position was eliminated at my job. I could have easily been financially and emotionally devastated. At that intersection, I had a choice: be creative and consider the opportunities before me, or fall into depression and allow my circumstances to consume me. I chose the former—so I could build a life that meets all of my needs, not just the financial ones. It has been one of the best sets of decisions I’ve ever made.

I walked out my faith and stomped all over my fear.

Faith says: I don’t know what’s coming, but I know who I am. “For we are His workmanship…” (Ephesians 2:10).It says: Even if the road shifts, I am still held. “For He will never leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6).It invites you to trust the process—not because it’s easy, but because you’re not walking it alone. As Psalm 23:4 declares, “Even though I walk through the valley… You are with me.”

At Seek, I offer coaching grounded in both practical tools and spiritual resilience. Whether you’re facing a move, a career change, a DNA discovery (which I understand through first-hand experience), or something harder to name, faith can be a compass. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart… and He will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5–6). You don’t have to have all the answers—you just need the courage to take the next right step. “For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7).
