Finding the safe place within
Surprises can shake up the best-laid plans. From a health scare to a career shift to a relationship rupture, change makes the ground quake all around us. In those moments, it’s easy to feel desperate and grasp for greater control.
But the answers rarely come from scrambling to change our external circumstance. They come instead from finding the safe place within.
It’s a place I know well. Nearly three years ago, I made a shocking DNA discovery that shook me to the core. The mental noise and emotional impact were staggering and irreversibly shifted my understanding of self, family, and identity. For seven months, the urge was overwhelming to do just one thing: cry.
With the help of a trusted therapist, I sought wisdom. I learned to create structure and stillness inside the storm. Build routines that allowed me to function. Set boundaries and nurture myself, even while grieving. Looking back, I can see how each small step helped me reclaim my safety—and rebuild my strength.
Those same tools continue to serve today. Most recently, I was laid off from my job. Rather than collapse under the weight of the unknown, I chose to reinvent myself. The result: a Lifestyle & Wellness coaching practice built on my professional training and colorful life experiences. I returned to school, enrolled in a Harvard Medical School Executive Education program, and began to live my passion.
Has all this change been scary? Yes. A leap of faith? Completely! But I welcome the redirection with a resilient heart—and a renewed sense of purpose to help others do the same.

If you’re facing uncertainty, know this: You are not powerless. And you are never alone.
Wishing you love, peace, and joy!
